About Medata PDF Print

Recognized by physicians and medical technologists as the pioneer in direct printing automatic holter and a leader in the digital processing of ECG data, Medata was founded in 1986 by John A. Humphrey Ph.D., President.

Following 3 years of research and development, Medata introduced the UniScan 24 in 1989, the first direct printing dual channel fully arbitrated atrial/ventricular arrhythmia detection holter monitor.

The UniScan 24 was superceded in 1992 by the ProScan SEL direct printing arrhythmia analyzing holter monitor. Advanced arrhythmia detection reporting is incorporated into a compact digital recorder/monitor which also stores the 24 hour full disclosure ECG data. The ProScan SEL has undergone various refinements since its introduction and is still unmatched today in performance, economy and ease of use with detailed arrhythmia reports immediately available by direct printer connection and without using a PC.

In 1994 Christopher S. Humphrey joined Medata as Vice-President of Software Development. As a highly qualified software programmer he was responsible for the commencement of the design and development of a new range of ECG software programs designated HeartFX. These programs, designed for the specific requirements of medical personel, offer new standards for reliability, economy and user friendly operation.

On-board arrhythmia processing became available with the CARD-IO holter monitor providing a complete arrhythmia report with 3 channels of ECG on a reusable flash memory card. The HeartFX 3.5 software program installed into the PC offers complete arrhythmia reporting in less than 60 sec with full editing capabilties.

In 1999 Medata introduced the Heart-Print FX 10.0 System. Cardiac Event Recorder and Pacemaker Transmitter data is received by the Heart-Print modem and converted to digital format through the PCs serial port for visualization, editing and printout by the HeartFX 10 Program software. The advanced processing features of this system offers a new dimension to on-line pacemaker function optimalization and the program is now equipped with patient data base and report import/export capabilities.

In 2002 Medata introduced the HeartFX 2000 Holter Arrhythmia Program three channel non-compressed ECG data is processed by the HeartFX 2000 Program which offers advanced holter arrhythmia analysis and reporting. This program has been recently enhanced to provide 12 lead diagnostic ECG and pacemaker pulse processing

Medata has recently added Ambulatory Blood Pressure, Spirometry and Interpretive 12 lead Resting/Stress ECG programs and firmware to the product line. All of these new systems are PC based, for high speed data processing and user friendly operational characteristics.

The entire range of products is supported by a comprehensive range of accessories and disposables, including ECG & Holter electrodes, Holter patient kits and Spiro sensor tubes.

Located in Newbury Park, California, U.S.A., Medata is a world leader in ambulatory ECG data processing technology and medical data software programs with sales in the U.S.A. and over 40 countries worldwide.
